Where to buy HCG in Australia

Research context reviewed 30 October 2026

HCG is a prescription medicine in Australia, listed in Schedule 4 of the Poisons Standard with registered products such as Ovidrel (ARTG 170446), and PEPTALIAS sells HCG in Australia for laboratory research only, at A$89.99 for 5,000 IU and A$139.99 for 10,000 IU on 30 October 2026. Both vials are in stock and ship express tracked from Australian stock. PEPTALIAS does not supply HCG for human or veterinary use, and a prescription is not a route to buying a medicine from PEPTALIAS. Those are two separate facts, and this page keeps them apart.

Prices on this page are list prices, and the product page always shows today's price.

This page gives you the two prices and vial sizes, a short explanation of international units, where HCG sits under Australian medicine and import rules, what PEPTALIAS does and does not publish about its HCG, and what to check before you order.

HCG prices and vial sizes

PEPTALIAS list prices on 30 October 2026 are below. HCG is measured in international units (IU) rather than milligrams, and the two vials come in different glass sizes.

VialPriceVial volumePrice per 1,000 IUStock
HCG 5,000 IUA$89.995 mLA$18.00In stock
HCG 10,000 IUA$139.993 mLA$14.00In stock

PEPTALIAS does not hold a supplier report for HCG, so unlike most peptides in its range there is no purity document to download from the product page. It is stated next to the prices so you can weigh it first.

Choosing between 5,000 IU and 10,000 IU

An international unit is a standardised unit of biological activity set against a reference preparation, not a weight. The 10,000 IU vial costs 22 percent less per 1,000 IU than the 5,000 IU vial, and it comes in the smaller 3 mL vial, which matters if your bench work reconstitutes to a fixed concentration.

Worked totals: one 5,000 IU vial is A$89.99 plus A$15.00 express delivery, A$104.99 delivered, and one 10,000 IU vial is A$139.99 plus A$15.00, A$154.99 delivered. Two 5,000 IU vials are A$179.98 plus A$15.00, A$194.98 delivered. Orders of A$200.00 or more after discounts ship free.

What HCG is

Human chorionic gonadotropin is a glycoprotein hormone (a protein with sugar chains attached) made of two subunits, two chains called alpha and beta. In pregnancy it is produced by placental cells and is the hormone a pregnancy test detects. In the laboratory it is used as a ligand, the molecule that binds a receptor, for the LH/CG receptor it shares with luteinising hormone, found on specialised cells in the ovary and testis. Because it is a large protein rather than a short peptide, it is produced from biological sources or by recombinant methods, and PEPTALIAS lists it under research compounds rather than peptides. With no supplier report, there is no product-specific storage or preparation information on the product page; obtain it before you order. The vial is powder only, and PEPTALIAS sells bacteriostatic water separately.

HCG and Australian medicine rules

Three separate sets of rules apply, and they are easy to run together.

Scheduling. Schedule 4 (prescription only medicine) of the Poisons Standard October 2026 lists "HUMAN CHORIONIC GONADOTROPHIN except in pregnancy test kits". Ovidrel (choriogonadotropin alfa) is on the ARTG as entry 170446, sponsor Merck Healthcare Pty Ltd, and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care medicine finder lists it as Schedule 4. That registration belongs to Ovidrel, not to the HCG PEPTALIAS stocks, which is not on the ARTG.

Import. The Office of Drug Control lists gonadotrophins, including HCG, as controlled substances: an import licence is not required but an import permit is. That permit covers bringing HCG into Australia and nothing else. PEPTALIAS ships from stock already in Australia, which settles only the import question.

Research use. PEPTALIAS sells HCG as a research compound for laboratory use. A research-use label does not by itself determine lawful supply or remove any requirement that applies to a Schedule 4 substance, and this page is not a personal-use purchasing route or legal advice. The research peptides guide covers what PEPTALIAS does and does not supply.

What to check before you buy

  1. Confirm both prices and the stock status on the live product page; the figures above are from 30 October 2026.
  2. Note that there is no HCG supplier report. For any document a seller gives you for HCG, check the issuer, the sample tested, the lot number, and how that lot links to the vial you receive. The laboratory report guide lists what a complete report contains.
  3. Check delivery and payment. The shipping page says in-stock orders are dispatched the next business day, Monday to Friday, express tracked at A$15.00 or free from A$200.00 after discounts. The FAQ says there are no payment-method surcharges, and the total including delivery shows before you confirm.
  4. Read the returns terms. A faulty, damaged, incorrect or missing order gets a replacement or full refund, and approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5 business days.
  5. Check that the seller states who it is. PEPTALIAS publishes its business details on the site.

Why buy HCG from PEPTALIAS

The case rests on what can be verified. The prices are listed openly with the IU and vial volume, the 10,000 IU vial brings the unit cost down to A$14.00 per 1,000 IU, and both sizes are held in Australia so there is no import permit to arrange and no overseas transit. Dispatch is the next business day and every parcel is express tracked. PEPTALIAS publishes a certificate of analysis for every batch it stocks where one exists and lists them on its lab-report (COA) guide; it says plainly when it has none, as here, rather than attaching a document that does not relate to the stock.

What researchers study

Two reviews describe the receptor and the molecule, and are cited for what they cover.

Ascoli, Fanelli and Segaloff (2002) review the lutropin/choriogonadotropin receptor. They set out that reproduction depends on this receptor working properly, that when it does not, ovulation fails in females and testicular development is abnormal in males, and that it sustains the progesterone levels needed in early pregnancy. Research HCG is used in receptor studies of this kind.

Cole (2010) reviews the biology of hCG and related molecules. It describes four separate hCG-type molecules produced by different cells with different functions, including the hCG of pregnancy and a pituitary form, and lists functions such as promoting progesterone production and angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth) in the uterine vasculature. It is a useful map of why a laboratory would want a defined HCG preparation.

Neither review concerns research-grade HCG bought online, and nothing here is a claim about effects in people.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy HCG in Australia without a prescription?

HCG medicines are Schedule 4 and require a prescription, supplied through pharmacies. Separately, PEPTALIAS lists HCG in 5,000 IU and 10,000 IU vials for laboratory research; a research label does not by itself determine lawful supply or remove requirements that apply to a Schedule 4 substance, and this page is not a personal-use purchasing route.

Does PEPTALIAS publish a COA for HCG?

No. PEPTALIAS has no HCG supplier report on file and says so. Its published reports for other products are listed on the COA index. For any HCG document from any seller, check the issuer, the tested sample, the lot and its link to the vial you are supplied.

Is there a cheaper way to buy than one 10,000 IU vial?

Per 1,000 IU, no. The 10,000 IU vial at A$139.99 is A$14.00 per 1,000 IU against A$18.00 for the 5,000 IU vial. Two 5,000 IU vials cost A$179.98, which is A$39.99 more than one 10,000 IU vial for the same total labelled IU.

Why is the 5,000 IU vial bigger than the 10,000 IU vial?

The 5,000 IU product is supplied in a 5 mL vial and the 10,000 IU product in a 3 mL vial. Glass size is a packaging choice and does not reflect the HCG inside; the IU figure does.

Do I need an import permit to buy from PEPTALIAS?

No. The Office of Drug Control's import permit requirement applies only to bringing gonadotrophins into Australia, and PEPTALIAS dispatches from stock already in the country. The permit question is separate from scheduling and supply rules.

Is HCG a peptide?

Not in the usual sense. It is a glycoprotein hormone of two subunits, far larger than the short synthetic peptides sold for research, which is why PEPTALIAS lists it under research compounds.
