SS-31 certificate of analysis: purity, identity and prices
Research context reviewed 30 October 2026PEPTALIAS publishes an SS-31 certificate of analysis showing 99.1% purity by HPLC for batch SS-3-2026-242, against a 98.5% minimum, and sells SS-31 in 10 mg (A$99.99) and 50 mg (A$189.99) vials, both in stock on 30 October 2026. The report comes from HK Qiangtai Technology Co., Ltd. and is published unedited as the SS-31 supplier PDF.
Prices on this page are list prices, and the product page always shows today's price.
The purity row is straightforward: HPLC separates a dissolved sample and reports how much was the main peak. The identity rows are not: the printed formula and weight are heavier than the published figures for elamipretide, so whether that peak is elamipretide stays open.
SS-31, also known as elamipretide, is a four-amino-acid synthetic peptide; a 2020 study by Mitchell and colleagues described it binding to model lipid membranes. PEPTALIAS supplies it for laboratory research only, not for human or veterinary use, and research-grade SS-31 is not the medicine Forzinity, as the SS-31 vs MOTS-c guide explains.
SS-31 retail sizes and prices
| Vial | Price | Per mg | Stock |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 mg | A$99.99 | A$10.00 | In stock |
| 50 mg | A$189.99 | A$3.80 | In stock |
The 50 mg vial costs A$90.00 more for five times the labelled amount, so the per-milligram price drops about 62%. The report's specification line prints both formats; it is one reference document, not a test of either size.
Does the SS-31 COA match elamipretide?
The report prints the formula C34H56N10O6 and a molecular weight of 672.87 g/mol, while the PubChem record for elamipretide gives C32H49N9O5 and 639.8 g/mol. The printed formula and weight also disagree with each other, since C34H56N10O6 works out to about 701 g/mol, and the report names no salt form or other reason. The printed CAS number, 1217693-36-7, is not among the CAS numbers PubChem lists for elamipretide either.

Reading the purity and limit rows
Purity by HPLC, 99.1%, means 99.1% of what the detector saw was the main peak and 0.9% was something else. It does not measure milligrams in the vial or confirm the compound's structure.
Loss on drying, 1.3%, is the weight lost on heating, water and other volatile residue included. Heavy metals under 5 ppm means below 5 parts per million, and under 50 CFU/g means fewer than 50 colony forming units per gram. In each case the report gives a value below the limit, not the exact number.
The how to read a laboratory report guide covers these rows; the mitochondrial peptides guide places SS-31 among its neighbours.
Why buy SS-31 from PEPTALIAS
- The 50 mg vial at A$3.80 per milligram is under half the 10 mg vial's per-milligram price, and both are in Australian stock today.
- PEPTALIAS publishes a certificate of analysis for every batch it stocks where one exists; for SS-31 that is the SS-3-2026-242 report, formula, weight and CAS questions included.
Choose a size on the SS-31 product page, or compare the other reports on the certificate of analysis hub; if the identity line matters to your work, ask PEPTALIAS first.
Frequently asked questions
What purity does the SS-31 certificate of analysis show?
99.1% by HPLC against a minimum of 98.5%, for batch SS-3-2026-242, expiring 8 July 2028.
Why do the formula and molecular weight not match elamipretide?
The report prints C34H56N10O6 and 672.87 g/mol; PubChem gives C32H49N9O5 and 639.8 g/mol. No salt form is named, so only the issuer can explain it.
Which SS-31 vial is better value?
The 50 mg vial, at A$3.80 per milligram against A$10.00 for the 10 mg.
Is the SS-31 COA an independent test?
No. This is a supplier reference document, not an independent test linked to your vial.
