DSIP 10 mg vial: what you are buying

Research context reviewed 18 October 2026

DSIP, short for delta sleep-inducing peptide and also called emideltide, is a peptide made of nine amino acids: Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu. The name is historical. It comes from brain-wave recordings in rabbits in the 1970s and describes what those experiments measured, not an established effect.

PEPTALIAS lists DSIP in one size: a 10 mg vial, A$89.99 at the price checked on 31 October 2026.

Where does the name come from?

In a 1977 study, Schoenenberger and Monnier reported isolating the peptide from rabbits and determining its sequence. They then made it synthetically, along with five possible breakdown fragments, two altered versions and a related three-amino-acid peptide.

All nine synthetic peptides were infused into the brains of rabbits under double-blind conditions, with 58 rabbits in total including controls. Brain-wave recordings (EEG) were analysed by computer. Only synthetic DSIP produced a significant and specific increase in delta and spindle EEG patterns. The fragments and altered versions did not.

That is the origin of the name: a measured EEG pattern in rabbits after infusion into the brain.

Later identity work

In a 1978 follow-up, the same group reported the amino-acid analysis and sequence in full and repeated the comparison with the same nine synthetic peptides in 61 rabbits. Delta EEG activity rose by an average of 35% against control animals.

The paper also reported a detail that matters when you read a report: only the pure alpha-aspartyl form of DSIP was highly active in their test, not its beta-aspartyl isomer. The two forms contain the same amino acids in the same order; they differ in how aspartic acid is linked into the chain. Because they have the same mass, a mass-spectrometry "conforms" result on its own does not tell them apart.

These were rabbit experiments with infusion into the brain. They do not show an effect in people, and they do not tell you what a commercial vial will do.

Vial size and BAC Water volume

DSIP is supplied as powder in a 3 mL vial. The 3 mL figure describes the container, not a ready-made solution. BAC Water is sold separately in 3 mL and 10 mL vials.

Nominal concentration is the labelled amount divided by the final volume:

Final volumeDSIP 10 mg vial
1 mL10 mg/mL
2 mL5 mg/mL
3 mLAbout 3.3 mg/mL

This is label arithmetic, not a preparation method, and the 3 mL row is the container's listed size. It assumes the vial holds exactly 10 mg of peptide. The supplier report below gives a peptide content of 86.33% for the powder it tested, which is one reason label arithmetic and measured content can differ. For other volumes, use the PEPTALIAS calculator.

Reading the DSIP report

The DSIP supplier report, No. 024-D81-TSX, is from Changsha Duole Bio and dated March 2025. It is supplier-provided, not independent testing. Four things to notice:

  • It describes a bulk lot. The packing size is a 1 kg bag. It describes the raw powder lot that was tested, not a specific 10 mg vial, so it does not by itself link that result to the vial you receive.
  • Purity and peptide content are different numbers. It reports 99.20% HPLC purity and 86.33% peptide content. Purity describes the main peak among detected components; peptide content describes how much of the powder's weight is peptide. The report also lists 9.37% acetate and 3.5% water.
  • Identity is shown by mass spectrometry. The sequence matches the 1977 paper, and the MS result is marked "conforms". As above, that alone does not separate the alpha and beta forms.
  • Dates matter. It gives a manufacturing date of 7 March 2025 and a re-test date of 9 March 2027.

Our laboratory-report guide covers the other checks, and you can ask PEPTALIAS which document covers your vial.
