What is BPC-157? What the research found
Research context reviewed 5 October 2026BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide with the sequence GEPPPGKPADDAGLV. The reason it keeps coming up in research is specific: rat studies have reported nerve-fibre regrowth, more vessels near injured nerves, and faster return of blood flow after it was restricted. View PEPTALIAS BPC-157 while you compare the evidence below.
BPC-157 and “Body Protection Compound 157” refer to the same named 15-amino-acid peptide.
Nerves: what happened in the rat study?
Researchers cut the sciatic nerve in rats. Compared with the controls, the BPC-157 group showed faster growth of nerve fibres, more blood vessels at the injured site, and better walking and electrical nerve measurements. It was a rat experiment, not a human nerve trial.
Blood flow: what happened?
In another experiment, researchers restricted blood supply to a rat hind leg. The BPC-157 group showed faster restoration of blood flow and a greater number of blood vessels.
Tendons: what happened after a cut Achilles tendon?
In rats with a transected Achilles tendon, the BPC-157 group had smaller tendon defects, stronger repaired tissue in force tests and better movement scores than controls. That is why tendon researchers look at this compound. It does not establish the same result in people.
Has it been studied in people?
Yes, but the published human evidence is small. A 2021 US retrospective chart review followed people who had received BPC-157 for knee pain. Eleven of twelve people in the BPC-157-only group reported improvement. There was no control group or standardised functional measurement, so the report cannot establish that BPC-157 caused the change. It is a human use case in the literature, not an instruction to repeat it or a result for PEPTALIAS material.
Which PEPTALIAS option fits the question?
| If the work calls for… | Compare… |
|---|---|
| BPC-157 on its own, with a choice of 5 mg or 10 mg | BPC-157 single-compound listing |
| BPC-157 plus TB-500, with 5 mg of each | BPC-157 + TB-500, 10 mg total |
| GHK-Cu, BPC-157, TB-500 and KPV together, with 10 mg of BPC-157 | KLOW, 80 mg total |
Those are different materials. A BPC-157 study alone does not test either blend. Read the KLOW breakdown or check what TB-500 means before comparing the blended options.
