Epithalon 10 mg or 50 mg: which vial should you buy?

Research context reviewed 18 October 2026

Epithalon, also spelled Epitalon, is a synthetic peptide made of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly). PEPTALIAS lists it in 10 mg and 50 mg vials.

At the prices checked on 31 October 2026, the 50 mg vial cost A$189.99. That is about 46% less per labelled mg than buying 50 mg as five 10 mg vials. The 10 mg vial, at A$69.99, is the smaller first purchase.

What is Epithalon?

Epithalon is a tetrapeptide, a chain of four amino acids in a fixed order. It was built from the amino-acid make-up of epithalamin, a polypeptide extract of the pineal gland. In a 2017 analysis, researchers examined that extract by mass spectrometry and HPLC and reported detecting the Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly sequence among its tetrapeptides.

The 10 mg and 50 mg listings are the same peptide in different labelled amounts. The larger vial is not a stronger or different version.

What have studies observed?

Most published Epithalon research is cell and animal work, much of it from Vladimir Khavinson's research group in St Petersburg. Three examples, each limited to the model it used:

  • Human stem cells in culture. In a 2020 study, researchers added Epithalon to human gingival mesenchymal stem cells and measured four markers of nerve-cell development: Nestin, GAP43, beta-tubulin III and doublecortin. The genetic messages (mRNA) for these markers rose about 1.6 to 1.8 times, and the marker proteins also increased. Computer modelling in the same paper suggested the peptide could bind two histone proteins, H1/3 and H1/6.
  • Cells and DNA in the laboratory. In a 2011 study, fluorescently tagged Epithalon was seen in the cytoplasm, nucleus and nucleolus of HeLa cells after incubation. In separate test-tube experiments, it bound preferentially to short DNA strands containing particular sequences (CAG and CNG).
  • Monkeys. In a 2001 study of female rhesus monkeys of different ages, researchers measured melatonin and cortisol in blood. They reported higher evening melatonin production after Epithalon and a change in the daily cortisol pattern of the older animals.

None of these studies tested a PEPTALIAS vial, and none shows an effect in people.

Epithalon 10 mg vs 50 mg: the numbers

Epithalon 10 mg10 mg3 mLA$69.99About A$7.00
Epithalon 50 mg50 mg3 mLA$189.99About A$3.80

Prices are before shipping. Both sizes showed as in stock on 18 October 2026; availability can change, so check the selected size before ordering.

For 50 mg in total, one 50 mg vial cost A$189.99 against A$349.95 for five 10 mg vials, a difference of A$159.96. Five 10 mg vials give you five separately sealed containers and a smaller first spend. A lower cost per mg only helps if your project needs the larger amount.

Vial size and BAC Water volume

Both sizes are supplied as powder in a 3 mL vial. The 3 mL figure describes the container, not a ready-made solution. BAC Water is sold separately in 3 mL and 10 mL vials.

Nominal concentration is the labelled amount divided by the final volume:

Final volume10 mg vial50 mg vial
1 mL10 mg/mL50 mg/mL
2 mL5 mg/mL25 mg/mL
3 mLAbout 3.3 mg/mLAbout 16.7 mg/mL

This is label arithmetic, not a preparation method. It assumes the vial holds exactly its labelled amount, and it does not show that the powder dissolves at every concentration. The 3 mL row is the container's listed size. For other volumes, use the PEPTALIAS calculator.

What the supplier report covers

The Epithalon supplier report names batch EPIT-2026-379, lists the 10 mg and 50 mg formats and reports 99.5% purity by HPLC. Read it with four points in mind:

  • It is supplier-provided. It was issued by the supplier, not by an independent laboratory.
  • It is a reference template. Its final page says it is a reference template for customer consultation, so it does not by itself link a tested sample to the vial you receive.
  • Purity is not peptide content. HPLC purity describes the main peak among detected components. This report gives no peptide-content figure.
  • Headings are not results. The report's heading carries a promotional label. That is the supplier's wording, not a test result, and PEPTALIAS makes no such claim.

Our laboratory-report guide explains the other checks, and you can ask PEPTALIAS which document covers your vial.
